A LONE RED APPLE

A Lone Red Apple is a tale of magic, mischief, and mayhem unfolding on the Greek island of Mykonos, where the muses come for inspiration and the gods sometimes meddle in the life of mortals.

So when Matthew, a shy British Classics professor, comes to teach the poetry of Sappho, Greece’s greatest lyric poet, the Gods sense a challenge. They ensure Matthew meets the passionate local woman Elena, known to her friends as “the female Zorba.”

Will she melt his reserve? Will the shy teacher learn that love is to be lived rather than studied? Or must the Gods themselves recognize they are helpless before a stronger Fate?

LABYRINTHINE WAYS

Labyrinthine Ways is a story of life and love in the rugged mountain villages of Crete. In a land “where the mountains met the sea,” we learn of the mysteries, magic, myths, and folklore flowing through the sturdy but craggy veins of Greece’s largest island.

The story unfolds in modern times with flash-backs to the days when first Constantinople, known as "The Queen of Cities," and "the most glorious city known to man," and then Venice, one of many invaders, ruled Crete.

The fables and legends related to these times are recalled with vivid detail by men in the kafenios of mountain villages and told as though they happened yesterday. Into these labyrinthine paths wander tender and vulnerable souls on journeys of self-discovery.

They are the town's Mayor, a former shepherd, haunted by a psychological pain so deep he cannot describe it; his two children about to "come of age," who are tormented by the remoteness of their father; a woman from the UK seeking the secrets of "The Cretan Diet" and release from a self-created prison; and a young wayfarer haunted by the mysterious Crete that dominated and tormented the life of Nikos Kazantzakis.
